Colonel Jenise M. Carroll - Senior Military Advisor

Colonel Jenise M. Carroll serves as the Senior Military Advisor to the Director of Diversity Management and Equal Opportunity, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Personnel and Readiness in Washington, D.C. She is responsible for providing military advice and guidance on programs and policies affecting equal opportunity and diversity management for 1.4 million active duty military, 1.3 million Guard and Reserve, and 782,000 Department of Defense civilian personnel.

Colonel Carroll received her commission from the United States Air Force Officer Training School in January 1996.   She has served in a variety of personnel-related positions at all levels including base, joint, major command, and staff.  Her wing-level assignments include tours as a Military Personnel Flight Commander, Squadron Commander and Executive Officer.  Her staff and joint tours include the Air Staff, Air Force Personnel Center and United States Transportation Command.  Her deployments include Operations CONSTANT VIGIL, NOBLE EAGLE, and IRAQI FREEDOM. 

Colonel Carroll's early duty assignments include Executive Officer to the Commander, Officer Training School, Maxwell AFB, Alabama; Deputy Chief, Personnel Division and Chief Senior Officer Management, Headquarters Air University, Maxwell AFB, Alabama; Protocol, Headquarters Air Combat Command, Langley AFB, Virginia; and Chief, Senior Officer Matters, Headquarters Eighth Air Force, Barksdale AFB, Louisiana and Legislative Liaison to the Air Education and Training Command Commander, Randolph AFB, Texas.

Significant career accomplishments include her being recognized as the Junior Personnel Manager of the Year, Headquarters Level, Air Combat Command, Barksdale AFB, Louisiana (2001); Company Grade Officer of the Year, Headquarters Air Education and Training Command, Command Section, Randolph AFB, Texas (2004); Mission Support Group Squadron of the Year, Langley AFB, Virginia (2010) and Field Grade Officer of the Year, Air Force Personnel Center, Randolph AFB, Texas (2012). 

Her personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with five oak leaf clusters, the Joint Service Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Air Force Commendation Medal with five oak leaf clusters, and the Air Force Achievement Medal with three oak leaf clusters.

Colonel Carroll holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern Colorado, Pueblo; a Master of Business Administration and Management from Troy State University; and a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College.
