EDUCATION: COL Martin holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Georgia College, Milledgeville, Ga.; a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Va.; a Masters in Military Operational Art and Science; and a Masters in Strategic Studies both from Air University, Maxwell AFB, Ala.AWARDS: Her awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal – with five OLC, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal – one OLC, Army Achievement Medal – four OLC, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award – one OLC, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal – with Combat Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Multi-National Force and Observer Medal, and the Parachutist Badge.

PERSONAL/PROFESSIONAL INFORMATION: COL Martin assumed command of DEOMI on June 17, 2016. She entered active duty in the enlisted ranks from October 1985 to October 1988 as an Administrative Specialist. She later received a Regular Army commission from Georgia Military College on March 15, 1991 as part of the Army’s Early Commissioning Program. After completing her degree requirements from Georgia College, she then entered active duty as an Adjutant General Corps officer on January 1, 1993.

COL Martin’s first duty assignment as an officer was at Ft. Bragg, N.C. from May 1993 to June 1996 with 18th Personnel Group as the Operations/Executive Officer, 19th Replacement Company; followed by Platoon Leader, 129th AG Postal Company; and later as the B Detachment Commander, 18th Personnel Services Battalion. Also while at Ft. Bragg she served as the 1st Corps Support Command, G1 Officer Manager. After attendance at the AG Advanced Course at Ft. Jackson, S.C., she went on to serve as the S1/Adjutant and Postal Officer, 1st Support Battalion, Sinai, Egypt from March 1997 to March 1998. After completion of Combined Arms Services Staff School, she was assigned to U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Ft. Monroe, Va. from May 1998 to March 2001 as the TRADOC Officer Manager and later as Headquarters, Headquarters Company TRADOC Commander. She was next assigned as the S1/S4 and Budget Officer for the Chicago Recruiting Battalion, Chicago, Ill. from March 2001 to July 2003. She was then assigned to Headquarters U.S. Army Forces Command at Ft. McPherson, Ga. from August 2003 to June 2005 as the FORSCOM General Officer and Colonel Manager. After attendance at Air Command and Staff College, Maxwell AFB, Ala. from June 2005 to June 2006, she was assigned to serve as Deputy G1/Strength Manager, 1st Armored Division in Wiesbaden, Germany from June 2006 to April 2009 which included a 15-month deployment to Iraq. After being selected for Battalion Command, COL Martin was assigned to the 30th AG Battalion (Reception), Ft. Benning, Ga. from June 2009 to July 2011. She was next assigned to U.S. Army Human Resources Command, Ft. Knox, Ky. as the Awards and Decorations Branch Chief. She attended Air War College, Maxwell AFB from July 2012 to June 2013 and was then assigned to the Army G1 in Washington, D.C. as the Deputy Director of Technology and Business Architecture Integration. Her most recent assignment was as the Commander, U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden from July 2014 to April 2016.
